Get help with my applicationHow to Apply for the Singapore Arrival Card (SGAC): Step by Step
Key takeaways
- There is no application in the visa sense: applying for the SGAC means filing a form once, free, on the official ICA e-Service or MyICA app.
- The e-Service starts with two doors: one for residents (health declaration) and one for foreign visitors (arrival information plus health declaration).
- Choose Individual Submission for one traveler or Group Submission for people traveling together on one trip.
- File within 3 days including your arrival day; earlier filings are not accepted.
- After submitting, ICA emails an acknowledgment to your declared address. Changes go through the Update SGAC feature.
How to apply, in one paragraph
Go to the official SGAC e-Service at ica.gov.sg, pick the option that matches your status, enter your personal, trip, address, and health details, submit, and receive the acknowledgment email. The whole thing costs nothing and takes minutes per person when your details are ready. Or skip the typing: we are an independent filing service, and for $19 we complete and submit the official form for you, with the acknowledgment forwarded within 24 hours.
Before you start
Two things must be true before you open the form. First, you are inside the submission window: within 3 days before your arrival in Singapore, counting the arrival day. Arrive Saturday 12 December 2026 and you can file from Thursday 10 December 2026. Second, your trip details are final, because the form asks for your flight and where you are staying.
Have your passport, booking confirmation, and hotel address open in other tabs. The full preparation checklist is in our SGAC requirements guide.
The e-Service flow, step by step
Here is the real sequence on the ICA e-Service:
The labels on the e-Service are your confirmation that you are in the right place. The two entry options, the Individual and Group Submission choice, and the acknowledgment email are all features of the official form described on ica.gov.sg.
Filing the SGAC on the ICA e-Service
- Step 1: Open the official ICA page for the SG Arrival Card and click through to the SGAC e-Service. Check the address bar says ica.gov.sg before you type anything.
- Step 2: Pick your entry option. Foreign visitors, including IPA letter holders, choose the Foreign Visitors option, which collects arrival information and the health declaration. Singapore citizens, permanent residents, and long-term pass holders arriving by air or sea choose the residents option, which collects the health declaration.
- Step 3: Choose Individual Submission for one traveler, or Group Submission for a group traveling to Singapore together on one trip.
- Step 4: Enter personal particulars: full name exactly as printed in the passport, passport number, nationality, and date of birth.
- Step 5: Enter contact details, including the email address where the acknowledgment will be sent.
- Step 6: Enter trip details: arrival date in Singapore, mode of travel, flight number for air arrivals or conveyance details for land arrivals, and your last port of embarkation.
- Step 7: Enter your address in Singapore: hotel name and address, or the place you are staying.
- Step 8: Complete the electronic health declaration, answering the symptom and travel-history questions honestly.
- Step 9: Submit. ICA sends an acknowledgment email to the address you declared. Keep it until you have cleared immigration, and show your travel document at the counter or automated lane on arrival.
Individual vs Group Submission
The choice appears early in the flow, so it helps to know which you need:
One caution from experience: the person who files the group submission should be reachable on arrival day, because the acknowledgment email for everyone lands in the email address declared on that one submission.
| Individual Submission | Group Submission | |
|---|---|---|
| Who it is for | One traveler filing alone | A group traveling to Singapore together for one trip, such as a family |
| Submissions produced | One card | One card per traveler, filed in a single sitting |
| Details entered once | All | Shared details like the flight and address, while each traveler still needs their own passport particulars |
| Best for | Solo trips | Families and tour groups |
Using the MyICA mobile app instead
The other official channel is the MyICA mobile app, free on the App Store and Google Play. It hosts the same SGAC submission with two conveniences: it can scan your passport to populate particulars, and it saves your profile so subsequent trips to Singapore auto-fill your details.
Same form, same 3-day window, same free cost, same acknowledgment email. ICA actively encourages the app for exactly these reasons. Whether you use the website or the app makes no difference to the requirement.
Fixing mistakes: Update SGAC
Plans change after filing, and the e-Service has a feature for that. Update SGAC lets you correct an existing submission, and ICA specifically directs travelers to use it when their health status changes after submitting. A false health declaration is an offence under the Infectious Diseases Act, so the update path matters.
For flight changes, date changes, and address changes, update the existing card rather than filing a second one. If the error is in a locked identity field, contact the e-Service help channels or file the correction with ICA rather than guessing. Our customers send corrections to us and we refile at no charge.
Common mistakes to avoid
A handful of errors cause most problem filings. None of them is hard to avoid:
What goes wrong, and the fix
- Filing outside the window. The e-Service accepts submissions only within 3 days including the arrival day, so a card typed on the wrong calendar day is rejected outright.
- Typos in the passport number or name. The card is matched against your passport at clearance, so copy from the bio page rather than retyping from memory.
- A mistyped email address. The acknowledgment goes to the address you declare, and a wrong one means no proof of submission.
- Guessing the flight. Use the flight number of the leg that physically lands in Singapore, not your first departure flight from home.
If you would rather not do any of this
The honest frame, one more time: filing yourself is free and perfectly doable with the steps above. Our $19 exists for travelers who want the form handled end to end: you send your trip details once, we verify every digit against your passport, submit inside the correct window, and forward the acknowledgment within 24 hours, with a full refund if we fail to deliver. Fees and turnaround are detailed in SGAC fees and processing time, and the full Singapore Arrival Card guide covers the wider rules.

Frequently asked questions
How long does it take to apply for the SGAC?
Minutes per person on the official e-Service when your passport, flight, and hotel details are ready. The MyICA app is faster on repeat trips because your saved profile auto-fills.
Can someone else apply for me?
Yes. A family member, tour leader, or filing service like ours can submit on your behalf using Group Submission or the details you provide. The acknowledgment goes to the email declared on the form.
Do I need an account to submit?
No account is needed on the e-Service. The MyICA app adds optional profile saving for convenience on future trips.
What happens after I submit?
ICA records the submission and emails an acknowledgment to your declared address. There is no approval step; at immigration you present your travel document and the record is matched.
I made a mistake on my SGAC. What do I do?
Use the Update SGAC feature on the e-Service to correct the submission. Health status changes should always be updated this way.
Can I apply a week before my trip?
No. The e-Service accepts filings only within 3 days before arrival, counting the arrival day. Earlier filings are rejected, so set a reminder for when the window opens.
Is a visa the same as applying for the SGAC?
No. The SGAC is an arrival record, not a visa. Visa applications, if your nationality needs one, are a separate process with ICA or the relevant authority.
